How do you know it is brand new? Just curious. I bought my one new and it had all the sticky tape protectors on the bracelet. It is a lovely G though and I love the weight and feel of it. Beware that even if you are careful wearing it, you can still easily scuff the bracelet and being black it...

I am interested in this also as I like the GXW-56 watches. However I would say that whilst Casio will honour a 1 year manufacturers warranty, you will not get a 2 yr local shop warranty like H Samuel jewellers offer. Importing one from Japan will likely mean you have to pay an import duty fee...

How long have you been wearing the watch to the gym? Has it always been this way? It maybe that somehow the watch may have had water ingress and if your salty sweat has got in there then that could cause damage being corrosive. Best take it into an authorised repairer to check out.

If I was to get a Frogman or Riseman I would be conscious of the 'sticky out bits' on both models, digging into my arm, making it uncomfortable, which I wouldn't want of course. I'd deffo want to try 'before you buy'. It's finding a local store that sells them.
