May 2012 sees Casio Japan releasing seventeen new models, three of which have been delayed from the April 2012 G-Shock release. Once again thanks to the sneak previews G-Shockzone have brought you over the last few weeks there is little we haven't seen before. The big news for the May 2012 G-Shock release is as follows The Garish Black pack we previewed back in February sees an official release with the new G-Shock GW-9200BWJ-1JF Riseman, G-Shock GW-9110BW-1JF Gulfman, G-Shock GA-150BW-1AJF, G-Shock DW-6900BW-1JF, G-Shock GA-200BW-1AJF, G-Shock GD-100BW-1JF and G-Shock AWG-M100BW-1JF. Casio Japan have announced eight new Baby-G models for April 2012. Three models are from the ani-digi BGA range and three from the surf inspired G-Lide BLX range. The Baby-G BLX-5600 G-Lide range all feature a square dial and tide graph functionality. The Baby-G BLX-5600-1JF features a gloss black band and bezel, the Baby-G BLX-5600-4JF features a bright pink band and bezel and the Baby-G BLX-5600-7JF features a white band and bezel with a blue dial. Three models are released into the ani-digi BGA-1100 range, all feature tough solar and multiband 6 atomic time syncronisation. This is certainly one of the more leftfield G-Shock collaborations we've seen recently, it's a tie in with the Japanese anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica. The watch is based on the character Kyubey which is apparently is a genderless extra terrestrial being posing as a familiar who can grant any wish to a certain girl, on the condition that she become a magical girl and fight against witches (from Wikipedia). Right on. Anyhow the watch is due out later this month and is available for pre-order here and will also be available at upcoming 'Supermassive Video Conference' happening over the weekend 28/29th April somewhere in Japan (where we are unclear). Casio Japan are set to release two new ProTrek models for April 2012, both are Manaslu editions, the moniker Casio reserve for their range topping ProTrek models. The ProTrek PRX-7000T-7JF Manaslu edition features Casio's all new Smart Access system, see the preview on the ProTrek PRX-7000T Manaslu we brought you back in February. The other model is the black ProTrek PRX-2500YT-1JF which is a new colorway for this model, the silver model having been released back in November. Casio are set to release another all new model for 2012 in the G-Shock GWX-8900. The GWX-8900's key features are multiband6 atomic time sync, tide graph and moon phase - the G-Shock will of course have all the normal features. Two model are being released April / May 2012 in the black with positive display and blue accents G-Shock GWX-8900-1JF and white with negative display G-Shock GWX-8900B-7JF. Japanese clothing label X-Girl (formerly associated with Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon) have followed up their 2009 G-Shock collaboration with this X-Girl x G-Shock DW-5600. The new collaboration features an 80s themed pastel colorway and packaging, Mike Mills designed X-Girl caseback engraving, X-Girl logo to the EL and black band and bezel. Another month, another G-Shock collaboration with Japanese brand BAPE. This time the new watch is based on the venerable G-Shock DW-5600 and features a camo dial complete with BAPE logo, BAPE ape head EL and black band and bezel. The G-Shock GXW-56KG-3JF is part of the all new Army Green Series which dropped as part of the G-Shock November 2011 release with this model following as part of the March 2012 G-Shock release. The G-Shock GXW-56KG-3 and rest of the Army Green (or Military Green Solar as it's known in the US) pack are due April 2012 in the USA. The Men In Military Colors Master of G pack is due to drop April and May 2012 and features four models. As now seems to be an annual tradition Casio will once again be releasing a G-Shock and Baby-G "Love The Sea And Earth" collection which benefit environmental charities. Three new models are due June 2012. The eye popping Earthwatch x G-Shock GW-9300K-3JR Mudman will benefit the Earthwatch Institute. The ICERC x G-Shock GWX-8900K-3JR and ICERC x Baby-G BGR-3004K-2JR both benefit the International Cetacean Education Research Centre, better known as the ICERC. All will feature custom casebacks, custom EL, custom packaging and of course unique colorways. Fashion photographer Terry Richardson has collaborated with French fashion store colette and Casio to bring out this G-Shock and Baby-G set to celebrate his ongoing "Mom & Dad" exhibition. Like M&M's? Like Baby-G? This could be the one for you, the M&M's x Baby-G BG-5600MMS-7JR a Japanese collaboration between US based confectioner M&M's and Baby-G. This particular colloboration is based on the white Baby-G BG-5600 and features M&M's detailing to band, dial and packaging, M&M's EL and M&M's caseback engraving. Casio are set to open a new G-Shock shop in London's Covent Garden Market to replace the temporary G-Shock West flash store in Neal Street, Covent Garden. The new store will be located at 5B The Market in the heart of Covent Garden's Piazza and cover two floors. Casio have previewed a G-Shock smartphone at CES 2012 in Las Vegas. The phone looks to have all the essential G-shock DNA with a rugged appearance and shock resistance. The new models looks to be a step on from Casios previous attempt at a rugged phone the G'zone.
