I never realized the 5500 was the original version of the gulfman...I really want to get a 5500, I have yet to try one on.
CheersIt is indeed the first generation gulfman, this one is a Men in Navy version.

Willy I think you are getting mixed up. The original gulfman he was talking about is the blue one he wore a few days ago.

This is the DW-9700NK Men in Navy Gulfman
This is the G-5500R. The G-5500R is based on the original DW-5500 aka the G-Shock II aka the first master of G which was named (or nicknamed, not 100% clear) the Mudman.
All this aside gone with the lightly modded DW-9100 Riseman today
