What the first G-Shock Model ?

The first G-Shock is DW-5000 release on 1983. Casio launched the shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch. This product shattered the notion that a watch is a fragile piece of jewelry that needs to be handled well, and was the result of Casio engineers took the challenge to create watches of the most difficult in the world.

Well let me begin by welcoming you to our beloved forum.

You are correct, G-Shock so it's debut in 1983 with the released of their first ever square digital watch the DW-5000C My mom gave me this watch on my birthday that same year. Memory serves me well the following year Casio changed the model to the DW-5600C and a couple of years later they changed the model once again. The 5600 like 6900 have been the longest selling platforms in G-Shock history. I do like the square look and have plans to purchase more of these models.

Personally am a huge square fan, but not into the DW'S in general because I need the world time. Still have a few though.
