That G-345RL is pretty cool, new to me also. Can't find any in stock anywhere either The remote control one has a nice retro cool too, wonder if it'll work with one of those handheld b&w casio TVs.

Good stuff, glad they turned up finally :D You should get some pics before and after restoration. Casio do actually carry a lot of spares, well worth giving them a try. Picked up bands and bezels from them for 15 and 20 year old models.

The Pathfinders are cool indeed, some are pretty large though. They are not as tough as the G-shocks nor do they fall under the G-shock range. However whether in real life a pathfinder will be tough enough depends on exactly what you're doing.

You should be able to open the caseback without damaging the screws - just shows a lack of care I suppose. As you mentioned above perhaps they were careless or used poor tools.

Chewed screws on the caseback are a bad sign. If you do intend to DIY the job don't forget to at least get some silicone grease for the caseback seal. Might also be worth a new seal whilst you're doing the job.
